Le Cuir a Paris is a Trade Show hosted in Paris, France that introduces new and upcoming appeals in the leather accessory and footwear industry. Three sub themes were represented: Obsession, Compression, and Migration.
Obsession
Rich, fancy leathers are used to represent repitition and construction techniques.
Compression
Vintage styles are used to boost creativity. Surface tooling with matte and worn finishes show new idea's in craftmanship.
Migration
Inspiration from travel and voyage. Ethnic and ancient looks, reptile and animal prints; rustic, raw, and natural finishes.
Where a new shirt or dress can set you apart from the crowd, that hand bag or heel is going to take you that much further. Techniques for upgrading accessories, from a textile point of view, are ever prevalent and coming to you soon. With the want and need to change things up, designers are looking for ways to surprise and specialize. No longer will you bare those simple, black pumps but rock that rubber soled wedge.
Aesthetic Artistry
Reintroducing materials, such as velvet and rubber, help create bold statement pieces.
Advanced Appeal
With new materials come new finishes and treatments to make them that much better!
High shine glosses give accessories a futuristic look and sleek feel
Matte and opaque suede's bring a natural feel to the garments
Rainbow metallic; from cuffs, to shoes, to garments
Combining old and new tanning techniques to avoid harsh chemicals and support eco friendly efforts
Custom Mind
Hand-crafted and specialized decorations set individual pieces apart that much more.
Canvas continues to be used for multiple pieces such as bags and shoes
Dip-dyed pieces show individuality with light and dark stains
Intricate detailing and interlacing updates material mixing
Graphics from around the world present colorful motifs
Distressed look moving from pants to accessories with emphasis on scales
Active Influences
Athletic references come through by merging mesh and other performance fabrics.
